House Hunting

We met Mdme Helleput today. Her job was to take us to look at places to live. We saw 13 places. Unfortunately, reality didn’t set in until about halfway thorough the options.

We started at 10:00 am and ended at around 7:00 pm and we are exhausted. We estimated that we walked at least 15 miles. OK, so now you know how hard we worked and how tired we are…..

Now for the report. One place we saw was across the street from the Catholic University of Lyon. It was the oldest and most awesome of them all. Here are the photos from that. Notice the view from one window. Really old Lyon. The entry hall had a grand area where horses probably came through with carriages. The staircase in the entry hall was really grand. Mdme Helleput even mentioned how princesses probably came down that stairway once upon a time. And she mentioned that Katherine, being an architecture student, would appreciate the really old buildings in the area. I took a picture of the Catholic University as we were leaving and she also mentioned that it would be a good idea to show my kids that there really was a young population in Lyon. Sadly, the apartment was not so nice.
